Secret Doors
May 10th, 2007What self-respecting man has never dreamed of having a secret passage in his home? Sure, you might not have a secret crime-fighting lair to put behind it, and you might not be able to afford the cost of totally rebuilding your home, but a guy can dream, right?
Well throw away those tights and utility belt, ’cause now you can get your own secret door without having to dedicate yourself to defeating evil.
In addition to their selection of custom doors and shutters, Woodfold is now offering bookcase doors. Easy to install and very well built, these will turn any doorway into an innocuous bookcase which opens up to reveal your wall safe, private study, secret S&M dungeon, or whatever else you think would be better left hidden.
They come in sizes to accommodate 54 or 66 inch openings, and are available in Oak, Maple, or Cherry woods, so you can pick something that won’t stand out from your mild mannered alter-ego’s decor. The doors hang on a heavy duty steel roller system, sliding open smoothly and quietly. The shelves are adjustable and capable of supporting up to 500 lbs, so you also get a fully functioning bookcase out of the deal as well.
No word yet on whether Woodfold also plans to offer paintings with holes cut out of the eyes. ($TBA)
