TipKalc iPod Widget
April 26th, 2007One of the best things about technology is how, with the possible exception of sex ed, almost all of the things my education has taught me can now be easily replicated by one of my numerous gadgets. My latest acquisition, the TipKalc, neatly removes the last reason I had for remembering basic math functions.
This nifty little widget turns your iPod into a tool for tackling big restaurant bills. Simply fire it up and spin the wheel until your bill is shown in the center. The resulting display not only tells you how much to tip (for either 15% or 20%) and the grand total, but it can also split the bill up to five ways. If you’re a cheapskate, you can even divvy up the bill sans tip by spinning the wheel until the amount shows in one of the grand total boxes.
Now if someone could point me towards a widget that writes crappy essays about Hamlet, perhaps I could finally finish forgetting everything I learned in high school English class as well. $4.99
